THE UNCHARTED APPROACH

Uncharted is designed to create a reprieve for the body, an inspired dreamscape for the mind, and a powerful grounding space for the soul and spirit. Rooted in four pillars of compassion, curiosity, courage and creativity, the retreat blends wellness and mindfulness with personal development.

Each day begins with movement in nature, like yoga or surfing. While structured, there is a ‘less is more’ approach with abundant space for exploration, stillness, nature or daily work.

Each afternoon convenes a facilitated integration session co-facilitated by natural locations reflecting that particular session’s guidance.

These sessions follow the 8 elements of the Uncharted journey, moving in outward spirals like the rings of a tree from inner awareness and purpose; to inner values compass and vision; to resource development and capacity building; to outer impact. Even the geography is intentional, beginning near to the villa, to land and slowly ground into a new environment, then spiraling outward to the jungle, and wilderness.

"You have traveled too fast over false ground. Now your soul has come to take you back. Take refuge in your senses, open up to all the small miracles you rushed through.

Become inclined to watch the way of rain when it falls slow and free. Imitate the habit of twilight, taking time to open the well of color that fostered the brightness of day. Draw alongside the silence of stone until its calmness can claim you.

Be excessively gentle with yourself. Stay clear of those vexed in spirit. Learn to linger around someone of ease who feels they have all the time in the world.

Gradually, you will return to yourself, having learned a new respect for your heart and the joy that dwells far within slow time.”

“My Uncharted retreat experience has been such a great guide by my side this last year, helping me become more of who I am - unapologetically - while also letting go of what no longer serves and embracing a deep sense of not having to be in a rush. I am reminded of this Bethann Hardison quote, I never think people change. They become more of who they are."
